What is QLM?
Quality Lifecycle Management
In 30 seconds
QLM (Quality Lifecycle Management) is the approach of managing quality processes not as separate records but as one lifecycle, from planning to event, from event to verified closure and learning.
How does it work?
- Processes such as complaints, audits, risk analysis and planning run on the same logic of work, deadlines, evidence and authority.
- Knowledge created in one process (such as a complaint’s root cause) feeds back into others (such as FMEA or the control plan).
Often confused with
QLM and QMS
A QMS defines how quality is managed. QLM focuses on keeping those processes connected and executable across their lifecycle.
Common mistakes
- Seeing QLM as buying more modules; the real point is shared execution logic across processes.
From a QWorks perspective
QWorks is a QLM platform: business modules run on the same operations backbone, with shared platform capabilities beneath them.
